The didnt even try and hide the giant hole in the subframe, not like that would have passed anyway!

That transmission pan contains an almost unbelievable amount of hardware. The broken chunks sure, but all those fasteners, too?

Also did the last guy drive over a hardware shop?

Thats the first time I've ever heard of pre filling an oil filter. Seems unnecessary to me. Really confused why they thought it'd be a good idea to prefill it and out it back in the box though lol.

The idea is that it’s supposed to help prime the engine more quickly after having been drained, and minimize chances of dry-start damage. There’s still going to be a sheen of oil on everything though, so it’s not really dry dry, but the sooner oil gets pumped through all the circuits, the better.

I try to do it on my vehicles, but it’s not always an option. My old Thunderbird had the filter mounted horizontally, which could hold maybe a couple ounces if not for the fact that the filter had to be snaked through a tight, convoluted path that would just end up dumping oil out anyway. My Mustang’s filter is mounted diagonally though, so I can put some oil in that. But my Sierra’s filter is mounted nice and vertical, so I can fill that sucker right up to the top.

Seems like if it really mattered manufacturers would only make filters that mount so you can prefill. I've never read a manual that called for that.

Me neither. B ut it tickles my “OCD” the right way. Like the way I let my oil drip for a good hour before refilling, to drain as much old oil out as possible.
